Introduction
Basket filters are used on oil or other liquid pipelines to filter impurities in the pipeline. The filter hole area is 2-3 times larger than the diameter pipe area, far exceeding the filtering area of Y-shaped and T-shaped filters. The structure of the filter screen is different from other filters, and it is called a basket filter because its shape resembles a basket.
The basket filter is mainly composed of a connecting pipe, a cylinder, a filter basket, flanges, flange covers, and fasteners. Installed on pipelines, it can remove large solid impurities from fluids, enabling machinery and equipment (including compressors, pumps, etc.) and instruments to work and operate normally, achieving stable process and ensuring safe production.
A filter is a small device that removes a small amount of solid particles from a liquid, which can protect the normal operation of compressors, pumps, instruments, and others. When the fluid enters a filter barrel with a certain specification of filter screen, its impurities are blocked, and the clean filtrate is discharged from the filter outlet. When cleaning is needed, simply remove the detachable filter barrel, process it, and reinstall it. Therefore, it is extremely convenient to use and maintain. Currently widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, food, and environmental protection. If it is installed in series at the inlet of the pump or other parts of the system pipeline, it can not only extend the service life of the pump and other equipment, but also ensure the safety of the entire system.
Working principle of basket filter
Other debris may be brought into the pipeline during installation, and the raw materials used in production also contain debris. When the liquid in the pipeline passes through the filter, its dirt is collected by the filter into the filter screen. To a certain extent, the shell cover can be opened to clean the filter screen for pressure testing and inspection:
The pressure for the water pressure test of the filter is 1.5 times its design pressure, and the holding time is 30 minutes to ensure no permeation or deformation.

 

How to use

1. Installation: Installed horizontally or vertically in the pipeline, the direction of the inlet and outlet is consistent with the arrow identification, and it is recommended to set up a bypass for maintenance.

2. Operation:

     When the machine is turned on, the valve is slowly opened, the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet is monitored, and the filter basket needs to be cleaned if the set value is exceeded.

     When cleaning, close the valve, take out the filter basket after relieving the pressure, and clean it with water or a soft brush to avoid the deformation of the mesh.

3. Maintenance: Regularly check the seals and filters, and shorten the cleaning cycle for corrosive media.

Typical Applications

1. Petrochemical industry: filter crude oil impurities and protect refining equipment; Handling of corrosive chemical raw materials (e.g. caustic soda, sulfuric acid).

2. Water treatment: remove suspended solids and sediment in municipal water supply and industrial wastewater.

3. Food and pharmaceutical: ensure the health and safety of beer, dairy products and medicines, and intercept foreign bodies and microorganisms.

4. Refrigeration system: filter particles and impurities in low-temperature media such as liquid oxygen and liquid ammonia.
